How it started
From a curious kid with a film camera in Brazil to a multicultural wedding photographer in Los Angeles.
Child’s play
I was born in Brazil, and ever since I was a kid, I'd take my grandma's film camera and photograph the world around me. I couldn't sit still for a photo — even at four years old, I had more fun being behind the camera.
Learning the craft
Before coming to the US, I shared my love for photography with my dear friend Sue. I had never touched a professional camera then, but the passion was already there.
This photo is where it really started. Sue taught me how to operate a camera — and more than that, how to see a good one.
Wanderlust set in
Photography took me places I never expected. Chanting with Buddhist monks. Working alongside Nigerian film crews. Shooting through the window of a moving train, somewhere between Boston and Los Angeles. Every place taught me to see the world differently, and to be present in the moment I was living.
Growing up in Brazil immersed me in many cultures and a thirst for seeing the world. In 2015, the wanderlust won. I moved to the US chasing experiences — the same cultures and people I grew up around, and so many more.
Where it led
Now I document the most important days of people's lives, here in Los Angeles. The kid with the film camera never really put it down — he just found better light, and more stories to tell.
When I'm not behind the lens, you'll find me hiking, practicing yoga, or watching films — but always, somehow, still looking for the next shot.
